African Diplomat Found Dead At Millennium Hotel Near UN

An Eritrean diplomat in his 60s, was found dead Friday morning in a hotel near the United Nations Headquarters, New York.

Police sources said the man failed to show up for a meeting, only to be discovered unconscious and unresponsive at the Millennium Hotel, at 2 UN Plaza, at 10:40 a.m.

Fire officials were called after the man was found dead at 10:44 a.m.

Reports say no criminality was suspected in the incident and that he died of natural causes. This is yet to be determined by the Medical Examiner.
