The 52-strong Grammy award winning Soweto Gospel Choir during their visit to New York to perform, spent few hours at the famous South-African restaurant – Madiba in Brooklyn. In this short video, choir members shared what it’s like to be in this choir, how they get their songs, the requirements to be a member, and the various languages they speak among themselves.

Choir members include talents from the many churches in and around Soweto. The choir is dedicated to sharing the joy of faith through music with audiences around the world. They have performed for Kings and Queens, Presidents and Leaders from all around the world, including various well-known musicians.They performed for many non profits including their own AIDS orphans foundation, Nkosi’s Haven Vukani, to assist organizations that receive little or no funding. To date, the choir has collected over R4million for their foundation.
After lunch, the choir performed at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn.
