PHOTOS: Romelu Lukaku trains with Paul Pogba as they prepare to become team-mates with striker's £75m move to Man Utd

They are set to become the Premier League's most-expensive pairing – and Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba are getting to work early on their partnership at Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho believes his club have agreed a stunning £75million move for Lukaku, in a deal that would make him Britain's second-most expensive footballer – behind £89m Pogba.

The prospective team-mates are on holiday in Los Angeles together and have been training as a pair at UCLA in preparation for the new season's start next month.

Everton striker Lukaku will have a medical in LA – and it is understood that Pogba has been influential in the 24-year-old turning his back on a return to Chelsea.

Both players are clients of agent Mino Raiola, who is set to pocket another big commission from Lukaku's move having earned a huge £40m cut from Pogba's move from Juventus a year ago.

They have been undertaking fitness sessions together and have also been seen playing five-a-side matches at the US5 Center south of Downtown LA.

United fly to California on Sunday to start their pre-season tour and hope that Lukaku will be able to join up with them after signing a five-year contract worth more than £200,000 per week.

The Belgium centre forward's Stateside sessions with Pogba come after he failed to arrive for pre-season work at Everton to Thursday to infuriate manager Ronald Koeman.

The completion of the move — sensationally revealed by Sportsmail on Wednesday evening — is being held up by Everton, who are angry with their star striker's no-show.

But United still believe they can wrap up a deal within the next 48 hours to snatch Lukaku from under Chelsea's noses.

The Premier League champions were the favourites to re-sign their former forward this summer but now manager Antonio Conte's grand plans have been torn apart.

Chelsea clung all day on Thursday to the notion that Romelu Lukaku's heart might pull him to Stamford Bridge but he now appears set for Old Trafford.
