Photos, Profile: Meet the new Deputy Governor of CBN, Aishah Ahmad
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday presented Mrs Aishah Ahmad to the Senate for confirmation as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). She is to replace a former Deputy Governor, who retired early this year.
According to a statement by the special adviser media to the president, Femi Adesina, in accordance with the provisions of Section 8(1) (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007, President Buhari urged the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, to consider the expeditious confirmation of Mrs Ahmad, who would then resume work immediately.
Prior to her appointment, Mrs Ahmad, 40, was the chairperson, Executive Council, Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) and Head Consumer Banking at Diamond Bank.
She was born on October 26, 1977.
Mrs. Ahmad is an indigene of Niger State.
She is married to Abdallah Ahmad, a retired brigadier-general. They have two sons.
Her educational achievements include: an MSc in Finance and Management at Cranfield School of Management (UK), an MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Finance at the University of Lagos; she also holds a graduate degree in Accounting from the University of Abuja.
