PHOTOS: Inside the exquisite 25-bedroom mansion owned by President Mugabe and his wife
The opulence of President Robert Mugabe's $10 million palace, where the tyrant lives while his people starve, has been revealed following the political crisis currently rocking Zimbabwe.
The 25-bedroom house is based in 44-acre grounds fenced off from the public and protected by a multi-million pound security system, The Zimbabwean reported.
The pictures published in The Zimbabwean, show the property's magnificent pool, marble fixtures and crass gold and ivory colour scheme.
It was reportedly constructed by a Serbian construction firm in 2003.
According to a 2001 US diplomatic cable, later released by the whistle-blowing organisation WikiLeaks, Mugabe has about $1.75 billion-worth of assets, mostly invested outside Zimbabwe.
