VIDEO: ‘Boko Haram sponsor’ Ali Modu Sheriff narrowly escapes lynching in Maiduguri
This is the moment a hostile mob in Maiduguri unleashed their anger on the former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff.
The undated video shows Mr. Sheriff being confronted by a group of angry youths in the state.
His armed bodyguards prevented him from being lynched.
Mr. Sheriff who was briefly the chairman of opposition party, PDP, has been severally accused of creating and funding the deadly Islamist terror group Boko Haram.
Many have called for his arrest and prosecute, but the former governor still remains a free man, who moves around with security guards.
Sheriff however claims that Boko Haram killed his brother and that President Buhari would have arrested him if indeed he was a sponsor of the terror group.
