PHOTOS: Ganduje and Kwankwaso's 'thugs' clash again in Kano, lawmaker flaunts weapons
Violence has reportedly erupted between thugs said to be loyal to Governor Umar Ganduje and those loyal to former governor and representative of Kano Central senatorial district, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The clash reportedly happened today at Kwanar Dangora, Kano state.
Governor Ganduje and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were at Kwanar Dangora earlier today for a political rally ahead of the local government election before the clash broke out.
Eyewitness Abubakar Muhammad Inuwa took to Facebook to share purported pictures of lawmaker Abubakar Zakari flaunting weapons.
He captioned the pictures: “A state lawmaker Abubakar zakari unashamedly flaunting dangerous weapons. The consequences of electing crooks as our representatives.”
This is coming after Mr. Kwankwaso cancelled his planned visit to Kano. He was said to have bowed to pressure from superior quarters.
The Police Command in Kano had on Jan. 26 advised Mr. Kwankwaso against his planned visit to the state for security reason.
Kwankwaso had insisted on visiting his home state in spite of warnings from the Police against the visit ahead of the February 10 council poll.
