#ZumaResponds: "Nobody has told me what I've done wrong - President Jacob Zuma (VIDEO)
South Africa's scandal-hit President Jacob Zuma says he has done nothing wrong - and sees no reason to stand down immediately.
Mr Zuma spoke after the ruling African National Congress (ANC) announced it would back a vote of no confidence in his leadership on Thursday.
The 75-year-old has come under increasing pressure to resign amid numerous allegations of corruption.
“Unfortunately, no one has been able to provide what is it that I’ve done because I said to them if I have done something wrong there are processes in the ANC that need to be followed if I have been doing something wrong‚" Zuma said.
"In the discussion‚ I asked as to‚ ‘what was the problem? Why must I be persuaded to resign? Have I done anything wrong?’ "And of course the officials provide what is it that I've done‚" he said.
He said an order by ANC that he should step down as head of state was “unfair".
"I don't think it is fair, I think it is unfair," Zuma said in an interview with the state broadcaster.
Zuma said he would issue a statement later on Wednesday.
